motivation

Why, especially in the summertime, is it so hard to motivate myself to do basic things. For instance, I hate getting out of bed in the morning and when I do I go eat breakfast and fall back asleep on the couch watching TV. Although I love to workout, it takes me awhile to motivate myself to actually go to the gym even though I feel so good after. Lame, I know.

So, if you have any good ideas that will motivate me that I haven't already heard...and believe me, I have heard a lot, let me know!

CROSSTOWN CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, if I haven't already made it clear I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE Chicago Cubs fan...I love them like I love my family.

This weekend was the crosstown classic where the Cubbies played at home against the White Sox and totally rocked them. I don't remember the score of Friday's game but Saturday they won 11-5 and yesterday they won 6-1!!! YAY

I tried to call my Uncle Scott (who is the biggest Sox fan ever) and brag while the game was going on but his phone says he wasn't accepting calls....bummer

summer = sleeping in

So my summer doesn't seem to be getting anymore exciting and I have this horrible habit of sleeping in until about 12 everyday. I was never like this before, mostly because I lived in a house with two younger siblings and then I had to nanny really early last summer. This summer I work nights at my serving job and I feel that it is my obligation to sleep in.

Tonight I am doing something fun though. I got tickets to the Icubs game and a bunch of my friends and are going. I am going to do a taco/burrito bar at my place before the game so I hope that will be fun. I also hope it is ok that we go down to Pricipal Park-which is downtown, because the place was really flooded last weekend! Anyways....I'll be around later!

floods of 2008

So I thought all this flooding was bad when the carpet in my basement was soaking wet last week, but now I know it's really bad and only going to get worse.....

Des Moines released the emergency levy on Saylorville Lake last night at 10 pm which basically means that all that water (lots and lots of water) will flow into the Des Moines river whichs runs through downtown and it will be there my 10 this morning. I feel really bad for the people who live downtown near the river because they were all told to evacuate for their own safety. I have been contemplating helping with sandbags but my boyfriend told me that I would not be of any help to them because I have no body strength :(

In better news, the Cubs won yesterday! GO CUBBIES!

MOVIES

SEX AND THE CITY-I am going to see the single greatest movie ever in an hour.  I cannot wait.  My boyfriend told me that I would never actually see it because every time I planned on going something came up.  

This movie is going to be great and better than The Strangers-much better.  Oh, I also saw Indiana Jones on Saturday, it was over the top but still good.  I feel like this blog is turning into a movie review lol.  

In other news, my summer house is falling apart.  The rain has flooded the basement and the carpet is ruined.  The power went out this weekend too.
